Make a healthy and fresh start to your day by adopting a sole habit. Sole (pronounced so-lay) is water fully saturated with unrefined salt, such as pure pink Himalayan salt. To receive sole’s benefits in the morning, you must drink it before eating or drinking anything else. Here’s our recipe for how to make sole.
- Fill a glass jar about 1/4 of the way with Himalayan salt, either ground or in chunks. Fill to the top with filtered water. Add a plastic lid (not metal!), shake. Let sit overnight.
- You should always have some undissolved salt in the jar. This means the water is fully saturated. If all the salt is dissolved, add more salt.
- In the morning, take 1 tsp. of sole, mixed into room temperature water (or create your own blend) upon waking.
- Never use metal utensils with your sole! Keep refilling your jar with salt and water when it runs low. It lasts indefinitely. Enjoy!
Worried about the taste of salty water? Add a natural enhancer to flavor your drink. Lemon is a great choice. Squeeze some lemon juice, or add a couple of lemon slices to your sole.
You can also try these other optional add-ins, to mix up the flavor of your sole: lime, any fresh citrus, pureed berries, honey or coconut water.
