BOCA RATON, FLORIDA — Ann Brown, founder and CEO of Saltability — a wellness company providing quality Himalayan salt stone treatments and products for resort, day, medical and destination spas — recently joined the Global Wellness Institute Mentorship Program as the South Atlantic Ambassador. Through the program, Ambassadors from around the world help with GWI’s goal of strengthening the workforce in the spa and wellness industry.
“The GWI Mentorship Program is a wonderful opportunity for industry veterans to share their experience with newer spa professionals, and I can’t wait to begin building those connections,” says Brown, who’s South Atlantic region includes Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and South Carolina. “The more we share our knowledge and expertise, the stronger our industry grows — and the better equipped we are to deliver the best service to our clients.”
Now growing in nearly 50 countries, the GWI Mentorship Program is the first international program of its kind. Through its online platform, GWI aims to develop the next level of spa leaders and facilitate personal connection and accessibility between mentors and mentees to information, experience and resources. Mentors and mentees connect for up to 90 minutes twice each month, over the course of three months, via phone calls, video conferencing or through face-to-face meetings, where they discuss everything from leadership and management styles to strategic and business planning, priority management and human resources.
“Connections like these are never one-sided,” Brown adds about the mentor-to-mentee relationship. “Although I’m eager to share what I’ve learned throughout my 20+ year career in the spa industry, I’m also excited about the enthusiasm and innovation I see so many new professionals bring to the table — and I’m thrilled to work with Kate Mearns of 5 Spa Consulting, who leads the program. There’s so much we can learn from each other.”
